Unique Commisons

Here you will find some examples of my more unique commissions, where I further developed my creativity to accommodate my client's requests.

"The Underground"

This was a piece commissioned as a gift for a father who has spent his life in the underground mines of Australia, migrating from New Zealand in 1981. The sites he has worked at are listed around the brim of the hard hat, below scenes of the underground mining environment. To see the process, as well as a panoramic video of the final product, visit _art_by_madeline_ on Instagram.

"Dryandra Inspired Bush Mural"

In 2017, I was commissioned by Narrogin Primary School to paint a Dryandra Bush inspired mural in the entryway to the Pre-Primary Classroom.

"Mother"

Still today, this is one of my favourite commissions. My client had requested an image of a mother and baby Humpback whale with only a small amount of colour. Using Prismacolor Pencil, this was my firt coloured pencil commission.

"Old Scotland"

This is a 3-piece series of an older Glasgow, Scotland, set between the 1970's-90's. They are each A5 in size and were my first Architectural commissions.

"A Good Spot"

Only A4 in size, this intricate piece was my first Automotive commission. At first I was very caught up in the details of the unique rock surface but as the portrait began to unfold I became familiar and comfortable enough with the texture to not have to rely 100% on the reference photo.
